This is an devotional that I found at www.theholyplacebookstore.com when I was in search of a good daily devotion that could help encourage me and help in the prepartion to lead God’s people into worship. I had been asking the Lord for some help in finding a tool (ie. a book) to help me in the position of Minister of Music and worship leader and he lead me to this book. This devotional is just awesome if you are looking for a good devotional for yourself, your Minister of Music, or your Worship Leader. This devotional really it good no matter how busy. From this devotional I have learned so much, This is truly a regular read.

In His Presence Part II

In many places of worship once the people of God are at a place of extreme high praise they just leave it there and don’t continue to press forth into a deeper level in the spiritual experience. This usually because of a time restraint that is in the worship service or attitude. These reasons are extremely sad, for it is because of our time restraint and attitude that we the believers are not aligned with God our purpose and reason is not for or about God. For many we get satisfied with God to quickly. I feel that we do not try to pull as much as we can out of God. I feel that we really could receive a larger blessing and experience from God if we would build up our endurance in a sense. An example of this is with an runner that is training for a race; that runner prepares their body for the wear and tear of the duration and the effect of the race on their body. The runner would practice running for the duration of the actual race at the beginning and then progress to a duration that is much greater than what is expected at the race. Some items that we as believers need to do that will increase our endurance for a greater blessing or experience from God is :

1. Develop to have a constant and consistent praise and worship lifestyle which includes praise God for the things that you notice that he does for you throughout the day when he does it,singing God’s praise or how you feel about God , minding your behavior and attitude toward the ones that are around you.

2. Developing a to have a constant and consistent devotional time with God that you are reading and studying his Word.( This amount of time should gradually be increasing as deemed possible)

3. Meditate on the Word that you studied, read, or are studying all day

These items should give you a start in improving your endurance and focus when it comes to praising and worshiping God. We as believers really need to get in shape for the things of God to take place and we need to remember who is the most important person to us is and really put all of our attention and focus on him and not worry about the time or the other things around us, for God said we are to not have any other god’s before him.

A Great Help for all Worship Leaders

This book by Mr. Krauter is an excellent resource and a must have if you are serious about leading worship effectively. This book truly answers and lays everything out that you may have wondered about or needed help with. For example how to choose members for the worship team, living a lifestyle of worship, the importance of knowing God’s Word, how to cultivate the gifts God has given you and how to keep your priorities straight. This is just a few of the areas that Mr. Krauter covers in this book there are so many other areas that he also covers that are important.This book really gives you the overall behind the scenes and in-front parts of worship leading. If you really want a great start worship leading this is the book for you as you commence on your journey.

Praise??? Worship ???? What is that?

Often times in many places of worship you will hear people mention phrases that include the word or words praise worship. These words can a lot times have a person eventually asking questions like ” What is praise?, What do I need to do?, do I just do what ever I am told to do or what I see others around me do? What is worship? Is there a difference between praise and worship? In many place of worship these words are not that effectively explained, they are rather put out and intended to be understood. Many times the only way a a believer would know what praise and worship is is if a pastor or a music minister had explained it. A lot of times for a person that has not been taught or is not in some form of music ministry they do not know what praise and worship is, it’s difference, what is asked or required for each. Praise is a command to express a thought or feeling of gratitude or thanks. This can verbally be done verbally or physically. Worship is an act of reverence to express praise and devotion. Some examples of praise is lifting your hands, verbally saying thank you,singing,dancing, and etc.Some examples of worship are kneeling ,singing in tongues,standing, and etc. Praise and worship is not something that you just do when you are told to, it is also when you desire to express yourself to God.

Psalms 100 is an extremely popular text that is referred to and is used in worship services. A lot of times you may hear it said by a worship leader or the leader in a particular worship service to remind the people of what they should do when it comes to praise and worship and to get the people of God focused on entering into the presence of God. This psalm is one of my personal favorites among many others; this text for me is used to prepare my mind everyday before I set out in my day. This text is also used to set the tone for my day and to jump start my praise and worship unto God for that day. Having a personal praise and worship unto God outside of a corporate atmosphere is very important.Without it taking place outside of a corporate worship atmosphere, it brings what I call a block for the entrance into God’s presence.We do not want this to take place in our worship place, when it comes to the presence of God being in our corporate worship service we want God’ presence all the way throughout it. Now, for the presence of God to really manifest itself in a place of worship it has to have been cultivated. The way it is cultivated is by an individuals praising and worshipping God throughout the week then when we all meet together there is a mighty move of God due to his presence being in that particular meeting place.

I encourage all of us to deepen our praise and worship unto God; I encourage us to give God praise and our worship everyday all throughout our days. By us doing this we will be amazed how God blesses and guides our life and other peoples lives.

Why Won’t the People Praise Thee-God

In so many places of worship where they lift up the name of Jesus, there seems to be a lack of people that will really truly will give praise unto God without having to be cued to do so. I am not sure if it is from not knowing how to do so, not knowing the reason why to do so or just having an flat out defiance of what God requires of us to do. In any case Praise of God is a must for our sake and as our “thank you” unto God for what he has done and for what he will do (there is your answer right there for why we the people of God should praise God). If we would just for at least two minutes at minimum think about what God has done for us would realize that nothing we attempt or what occurred would of been possible. Another reason why we as believers should praise God is that it is our weapon against the enemy which is Satan. This is very important for there is where our situations change. Situations change through our praise changing the atmosphere that is around us. This is very important for it is the atmosphere that sets the mind frame of ourselves and the things around us in or current situation. So we as believers really need to get the hang of praising God for this keeps up in remembrance of who we are and the authority that we have over Satan through Jesus.

The way that we praise God is by lifting our hands,dancing, verbally acknowledging what God has done for us and thanking him for it, and following the verbal commands that are given for corporate praise unto God. There is are some many any other ways that a person can praise God and they can be found the Bible. A excellent start would be Psalm 150, here you will find an that for the most part everything is listed instruments and even us are listed in praising God.

In some places it is sad to say that people will not open up and praise the Lord. This may be from fear, don’t feel welcome to do so because of the atmosphere, or because of past hurt. These reasons are quite fair but we must get past that for in the Bible God commands us to praise him. When we praise God it builds our faith to where we are reminded of how God has done for us in the past, and how if God did it then he can do it now in this current situation. For the places of worship that we attend it is another problem if praise of God isn’t openly welcomed. As leaders it is our responsibility that we make sure that house of God is a place where the people of God are welcome to praise God freely. By not having this the house of God has become an hindrance to the command of God to praise him . This is a must fix for a place of worship where praise is unconsiously hindered; matter of fact it should be NUMBER ONE on the list that is to be fixed.

As believers and also leaders in places of worship it is important that we praise the Lord for who he is, what he has done, what he will do, and to help us in times of trouble, doubt and discouragement. This an weapon for us believers and we need to use it. So let us real tap into the tools that has given us and let what God has commanded us to do.
